Commvault says its endpoint protection offering can now discover the ChatGPT desktop app on managed devices, with protection and recovery for its local data to follow for Claude Cowork, Claude Code and OpenClaw in the coming months.
Why it mattersThe tools are part of AgentRecover and are intended to help organisations find supported AI tools on employee devices and recover local configurations and other data after disruption. Commvault says there is no separate SKU or additional purchase. For IT teams, that makes AI tool settings and work context part of the recovery plan, not just the files on a laptop.
Discuss: Should employers be able to discover and recover AI tool data on managed devices by default, or should employees have more control over what IT can see?
