A Hugging Face community article lays out a useful rule for making transparent image assets: treat background removal as a separate step, then check the exported PNG rather than trusting the preview. Its example uses H3Max’s local background remover.
Why it mattersThe author suggests opening the downloaded file over white and navy backgrounds, checking that areas such as a handle opening are transparent, and comparing the cut-out with the original for lost details or stray background colour. A PNG extension alone is no guarantee of transparency, so keep the source and recheck any resized version. Less glamorous than prompting, perhaps, but rather more useful when the file has to work in a real design.
Discuss: For a reusable image asset, is checking the exported file over contrasting backgrounds enough, or should transparency also be verified with a dedicated technical check?
