Experian says DataDome has joined its Agent Trust ecosystem, adding a way to assess whether AI agents continue acting within the authority delegated to them during an online transaction.
Why it mattersThe companies describe a layered approach: Experian links a verified consumer to an agent, while DataDome evaluates the agent’s behaviour as the interaction unfolds. They say the integration can work with existing commerce and security systems, without rebuilding them. It is a concrete attempt to tackle a central problem in agentic shopping: knowing not only who authorised an agent, but whether it stays on brief. The announcement describes the intended system, not evidence of how well it performs in practice.
Discuss: Should online shops let AI agents complete purchases only when they can continuously verify an agent’s authority, even if that adds another layer of monitoring?
