Barcelona-based Artiso AI has raised more than €3m in pre-seed funding to develop its AI-powered operating system for the fashion industry. The funding backs a young company aiming to bring AI into fashion teams’ day-to-day workflows, not just their image experiments.

What happened

The round was led by Criteria Venture Tech, with participation from Swanlaab Venture Factory, Bynd Venture Capital, Cyberclick co-founder David Tomás and Ganni founder Nicolaj Reffstrup, Silicon Republic reports. Artiso says it will use the money to accelerate product development, bring on more customers and expand its team.

Founded in Barcelona in 2025, Artiso was started by former Mango executives Sarah Iglesias Hiller, Lucas Pastur Romay and Matthias Brenninkmeijer. The company describes its product as an AI-powered operating system to help fashion professionals manage and combine workflows. Co-founder Matthias Brenninkmeijer says its agents use each brand’s own knowledge, with people retaining control of decisions.

Why it matters

Fashion companies handle images, sketches and technical packs alongside the less glamorous business of coordinating teams and workflows. Artiso’s pitch is to connect those materials and processes in a system shaped around each brand, rather than offer another generic AI tool. The funding gives the startup resources to develop that product and expand its customer base.

The announcement describes the company’s aims, not independently measured productivity gains or evidence that the platform is already used widely. Still, a dedicated AI system for fashion has a clearer job to do than a chatbot waiting for someone to think of a prompt.

Our read

The interesting part is not simply that a fashion start-up has raised money. It is the attempt to make a brand’s own archives and decisions useful context for AI across its workflows. That is a plausible route to tools that fit how a business actually works, provided the product can deliver on the promise and keep staff in charge of consequential choices.

What to watch

  • What features Artiso develops and how they fit into fashion teams’ existing workflows.
  • Whether the company shares evidence of customer uptake or measurable results.
  • How its agents use brand-specific information and keep people in control of decisions. Activity teaser: Artiso AI has raised more than €3m to develop an AI-powered operating system for fashion teams. The Barcelona start-up says its product will help professionals manage and combine workflows, using each brand’s own knowledge while people retain control of decisions. The funding will support product development, customer onboarding and hiring. The idea is more specific than another general-purpose chatbot, though the company’s aims still need to translate into useful results for customers.

Discussion spark: Should AI tools built around a brand’s own archives and workflows be judged mainly by how much time they save, or by how well they preserve the judgement that makes the brand distinctive?
