COLIBRIX ONE has chosen Vivox AI to automate know-your-business checks for merchants in the UK and EU. The deal puts AI agents to work on due diligence, while leaving final approval with human compliance staff.

Watch Desk analysis

What happened

The Fintech Times reports that the payments platform has signed a multi-year agreement with Vivox AI. Its agents will verify corporate documents, map ultimate beneficial owners, and screen for sanctions and adverse media. The rollout covers merchant onboarding, with plans to extend to ongoing monitoring and other entity types in 2027.

Vivox AI says its agents draw on company registry data from more than 155 countries and make each finding traceable to its source. COLIBRIX ONE’s compliance team will review and approve cases before they close.

Vivox AI also cites an earlier TransferMate deployment, where it says due diligence time fell from roughly 60 minutes to under 15 per case and screening alerts declined by 86 per cent. Those results are the company’s own figures, not independently verified in the report.

Why it matters

Know-your-business checks can mean sorting through documents, ownership structures and screening results before a merchant can be onboarded. This agreement shows how AI is being applied to that specific workload, rather than making a vague promise to transform finance. The human sign-off is part of the deal’s design, not a footnote: the software prepares findings, while compliance staff retain the decision.

Our read

The useful test is not whether an agent can produce a tidy due-diligence report. It is whether the report is accurate enough to save analysts time without obscuring a risky ownership link or burying a useful alert. The claimed TransferMate results are encouraging, but they are a vendor account. Real-world performance across a wider range of merchants will matter more than a neat before-and-after number.

What to watch

  • Whether COLIBRIX ONE extends the system to ongoing monitoring and other entity types in 2027.
  • Whether the companies publish independently supported results on processing time, accuracy and missed alerts.
  • How human reviewers handle cases where the AI’s findings are incomplete or uncertain.

Discussion spark: For compliance work, should AI be judged mainly on time saved, or on whether it can demonstrably avoid missed risks?
