Fitch Solutions says its licensed credit ratings, research and country-risk analysis are now available in Perplexity, including Perplexity Finance and Computer. For Fitch clients, that means bringing material they already subscribe to into AI research and workflow tools, with citations and compliance logging in the mix.

What happened

The connector, Fitch Nexus – MCP, gives eligible clients access to content from Fitch Ratings, CreditSights and BMI through four Perplexity features: cited answers, Deep Research, Perplexity Finance, and Labs and Computer. Fitch says clients can use existing entitlements, so this is an integration for current customers rather than a new standalone subscription announced here.

The practical details differ by tool. Deep Research can include credit ratings, rating drivers, peer comparisons and country-risk analysis. Finance adds Fitch’s forward-looking credit opinions alongside analyst ratings and auditable financials. Labs and Computer can draw on Fitch data for outputs such as spreadsheets and presentations, while cited answers link back to sources.

Why it matters

Financial research is only useful if people can see where a claim came from and check the underlying material. Fitch says the connector authenticates access, attributes content to its source and logs activity for compliance. That offers a more traceable route into AI-assisted analysis than copying research into a prompt and hoping the provenance survives the journey.

Access is limited to Fitch Solutions clients with the relevant existing entitlements. The announcement describes the integration and its intended features, not independent testing of the accuracy of AI-generated analysis or evidence of how customers are using it.

Our read

This is a useful piece of plumbing, and finance is exactly where provenance should not be treated as decorative trim. The important test is whether Fitch material stays clearly identifiable in the answer and the finished work, not merely whether it can be pulled into the workflow. Eligible clients can now try the connector with their existing access and check how the citations appear before relying on the output.

What to watch

  • Whether the Fitch material appears consistently in citations and generated reports.
  • Which Fitch content becomes available next; the company says Sustainable Fitch is planned.
  • Whether customers find the integration useful enough to change how they conduct credit research.

Discussion spark: For AI-assisted credit research, is source attribution and compliance logging enough, or should users also be able to inspect exactly how the system used each licensed source?
