Gears of War: E-Day is available today in Premium Edition early access, with NVIDIA introducing RTX Mega Geometry alongside DLSS 4.5 to improve ray-traced detail and performance.

What happened

The new geometry technology is the bigger story: NVIDIA says it lets ray tracing use more detailed Nanite geometry, addressing visual gaps in shadows and reflections.

NVIDIA says Gears of War: E-Day debuts RTX Mega Geometry, which allows more detailed Nanite geometry to be represented in ray tracing, and supports DLSS 4.5. NVIDIA also reports performance gains from DLSS 4.5 and says RTX Mega Geometry requires a GeForce RTX GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM.

What to watch

  • The open test on this story, not a recap of the announcement.
  • What actually changes for users if the reported move ships.
  • Which named facts later reporting confirms or walks back. The useful change is who has to alter a product, a budget or a public line if the account holds. Treat the first claims as attributed reporting, then watch for a primary statement that locks them in or walks them back. A short Activity note would undersell a development with named parties and a real consequence. The Watcher test is still the same: what actually ships, not what the announcement promised.

Discussion spark: Would you trade some of DLSS’s generated-frame performance for more accurate ray-traced detail, or is smoothness the priority?
