More than 80% of Roblox’s top 100 games, ranked by hours played, used AI to speed up creation in October, the company says. The figures suggest AI is already part of production on the platform, not merely a tool being promised for some future wave of game-making.

What happened
GamesBeat reports that Roblox disclosed the figures in its third-quarter earnings report. The company also said time spent in AI tools among top creators has tripled since the second quarter, while daily use of its MCP server has risen nearly five-fold.
Roblox said more than 500,000 people have tried its natural-language Build tool, publishing over 70,000 games. Daily asset uploads tripled in October, and a game made almost entirely with AI entered Roblox’s top ten by concurrent players.
Why it matters
The numbers point to AI-assisted creation moving from experiment to routine on one of the world’s largest game platforms. Roblox’s MCP server connects compatible AI assistants to Roblox Studio, and the company says it plans to extend access across Studio’s major APIs. That could let agents take on more of the work creators currently do by hand.
More games and assets are not automatically better games. Roblox argues that discovery, safety and moderation will matter as creation gets easier. The awkward question for every platform is how audiences find the good work when the supply of new work keeps multiplying.
Our read
This is a substantial signal, but the figures are Roblox’s own account of activity on its platform, not an independent measure of how much AI improved the games. Still, the combination of reported creator use, tool growth and a high-ranking AI-made game makes this more than a feature announcement. Roblox is putting numbers behind a real shift in how games are being made.
What to watch
- Whether Roblox expands MCP access across Studio’s APIs as planned.
- How the company measures quality, discovery and safety as AI-assisted output grows.
- Whether Build expands beyond the handful of markets where it is currently available.
Discussion spark: If AI makes it much easier to publish games, should platforms put more effort into filtering and discovery, or should players decide what rises to the top?
