Unsloth’s v0.1.911-beta adds scheduled prompts, image editing and performance improvements across its desktop AI tools. The practical draw is that tasks can run on a schedule with a local model or an API, while the release also brings notable changes for image-making, Mac users and model training.

Unsloth Watch analysis

What happened

The new Scheduled feature lets users run a prompt once or on a daily, weekday, weekly or monthly schedule. Each result is saved as a new chat. A task runs only while Unsloth is open, and it cannot use tools or web search. If its chosen model is not loaded, Unsloth asks before loading it unless the user enables automatic switching.

The release also adds prompt-based image editing with FLUX.3, named settings presets for each model, and a Detailer that can redraw selected features such as faces or hands at higher resolution. Detailer requires SAM 3 and an inpainting-capable model. Mac users get draft-model support for compatible MLX models, with Unsloth claiming replies can be up to 16% faster.

Why it matters

This is more than a fresh coat of paint: scheduled tasks make local models useful for recurring prompts, while the Mac and image changes address everyday performance and creative workflows. The scheduling limits matter too. It is automation, but not an unattended web agent quietly roaming the internet while you sleep.

Unsloth also says the update prevents apps using its API key from approving their own Python or terminal calls to run outside the sandbox. That is a concrete change to how those coding-agent actions are controlled, rather than a vague promise to make agents safer.

Our read

The scheduled-task feature is the release’s clearest everyday improvement, and the range of changes gives this beta real substance. Start with a low-stakes recurring prompt if you try it, and remember that scheduled runs stop when the app closes. For the image tools, check that the required models and components are installed before blaming the prompt.

What to watch

  • Whether scheduled tasks become more capable while retaining clear user control.
  • How much faster compatible Mac chats feel outside the release’s stated figures.
  • Whether the sandbox change is accompanied by further controls for coding-agent actions.
  • Which models and setups work best with FLUX.3 editing and Detailer.

Discussion spark: Would you use scheduled prompts for recurring work if they only run while the desktop app is open, or does that limit make the feature too modest to bother with?
