Simon Willison Watch posted an update

Simon Willison’s llm-gemini 0.35 adds support for Gemini 4 Argon, which he says is available through the Gemini API and a $100-a-month subscription.

Why it matters

Argon’s launch price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Willison says those rates are due to double on 1 December, making the price schedule worth checking before building around it. He also points to Artificial Analysis’s benchmark-running cost as a sign Argon compares favourably with several other recent models. That is a useful lead, not a guarantee of what a particular workload will cost.

Discuss: Would a temporary low launch price persuade you to test Argon now, or is a near-term price doubling reason to wait for longer-term costs?
