Simon Willison says he used Claude Opus 5.5 Extra in Claude Code to build Chirp Pong, a two-player game that sends its state between nearby phones as audio chirps.
Why it mattersThe phones use their microphones to pick up the sounds, letting the game run in static HTML without conventional networking. Willison says the experiment seems to work. A small, playful demonstration, but an unusually tangible test of AI-assisted coding beyond another generated webpage.
Discuss: When judging AI coding tools, should we care more about odd experiments that stretch what a browser can do, or reliable improvements to everyday software work?
