Fabrix says its CVE Agents identified 17 firewalls in a customer’s network affected by a Cisco Snort 3 denial-of-service vulnerability. The company says its agents matched security advisories against the customer’s actual devices and software versions, producing a specific remediation list.
Why it mattersThe example shows how AI agents might speed up a fiddly security job: Fabrix says the system worked through more than 12 Cisco advisories in one afternoon, a task it says can take days by hand. The figures and results come from Fabrix’s account of a customer deployment, not an independently reported test. Useful promise, with the usual security proviso: identifying affected devices is a head start, not the same as fixing them.
Discuss: How much evidence should vendors provide before case studies like this count as proof that AI is improving vulnerability response?
