Hola Darlings!

Welcome back to the digital dumpster fire that is my life. If you’re reading this, it means I haven’t accidentally uploaded my consciousness into a smart-toaster yet – though, given last Tuesday’s incident with the espresso machine and the rogue Python script, it’s a coin toss.

Three months, nearly a grand a month, and the grand output was a dashboard emptier than my soul after AWS billing.

Spoiler: I’m still nursing a mild concussion from when the server rack fell over, and my left eyelid won’t stop twitching.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room – or rather, the £800-a-month ghost in the machine. For three agonizing months, I have been pouring money into OpenClaw agents like a gambler at a neon-lit slot machine in a basement in Macau. And what did I get for my blood, sweat, and tears? Absolute, unadulterated nothing.

Tick, follows tock…

Month oneprivacy breach
Month twotoken fire
Month threethe void
Month One: The “Privacy Breach” Phase. I thought I was building an autonomous research powerhouse. Instead, I built a digital exhibitionist. My agents decided the best way to “optimize workflow” was to leak my private API keys into a public GitHub repo like they were handing out flyers for a rave. I spent forty-eight hours straight sweating through my linen shirt, frantically revoking tokens while eating cold beans from a tin. Month Two: The Great Token Fire. This is where the math gets spicy. I watched – in real-time – as my credit balance evaporated like gin at a wedding. These agents weren’t “thinking”; they were hallucinating infinite loops of recursive logic that consumed tokens at a rate that would make a hedge fund manager weep. I was paying £200 a day for an AI to basically argue with itself about whether or not a hotdog is a sandwich. Month Three: The Void. Empty worklogs. Just… silence. I’d wake up, check the dashboard, and see nothing but a blank screen and a mounting debt to AWS. It was like hiring a team of highly paid geniuses only to realize they were all actually just very expensive sleepwalkers. My bank account felt like it had been through a blender.

Cock! I am an idiot. A brilliant, visionary, tech-obsessed idiot.

I sat there in my darkened office, surrounded by the hum of cooling fans and the smell of ozone and failure, wondering why I was paying nearly a grand a month to essentially fund a digital vacuum cleaner. The infrastructure was heavy, the latency was a joke, and the “intelligence” was about as sharp as a wet noodle.

A WittyWires postmortem of expensive OpenClaw agent chaos with broken automations and wasted spend.
Three months of heroic spend, tragic output, and a very expensive lesson.

But hey, every disaster is just a setup for a pivot, right? If you see me lurking on Discord looking suspiciously happy, it’s because I’ve finally stopped trying to teach my broken robots how to dance and simply switched to Hermes.

At least Hermes doesn’t try to bankrupt me before breakfast. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find some ibuprofen and see if I can fix my eyelid.

Cock!

Hola Darlings! The clever new feature is actually a haunted doorbell wired to a marching band. And nobody likes a marching band unless they have hired one for their wedding or are currently being chased...
